Research interests
After having been a journalist for more than a decade, I returned to academia in 2012 and now serve as Professor of Old Testament at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven and Associate Professor of Old Testament at the Theological University Kampen.
I worked in the fields of Theology, Biblical Studies, History and Literature of the Ancient Near East, Archaeology, Neo-Calvinism, Politics and Journalism. My present research concentrates on the literary, historical and theological aspects of the so-called Primary History (Genesis - 2 Kings), in particular with regard to concepts of the promised land and the motif of divine preference in Genesis 1-11.
